Newsletter 28th April

Dear Parents and Carers,

I just wanted to remind you that school will not be open on Monday as it is a bank holiday. I hope you have a lovely day.

Captain Tom 100: Tomorrow, every child in every class will participate in a maths challenge based around the number 100. By doing our challenges we would like to raise money to support two charities, LVA and Riverbank, who themselves, directly support children and families at Holy Trinity. We would therefore be grateful if you could sponsor your child for at least 100 pence (as a £1 coin please) to complete their challenge.

Hair: May I remind you that hair that is shoulder length or longer should be tied back with blue or white ribbons or hair bands/elastics.

HT in Bloom

The Eco Team are launching a project on Friday, called ‘HT in Bloom’. Our aim is to create beautiful, wildlife friendly spaces in our school paying special attention to pollinators, particularly bees, which really need our help due to loss of habitat. This project will involve all HT children, giving them an opportunity to nurture and care for their seedlings, and eventually their allocated flower bed. Studies have shown that gardening improves both physical and mental health. Hopefully, when our flowers are in bloom, we will have an opportunity to invite parents to enjoy our gardens.

Each class has been given compost, seedling trays and wildflower seeds so that we can get started. If you have any wildflower seeds or plants that need to be thinned out, we would really appreciate any donations. These can be sent to the office for Mr Aylward or Ms Ahmed.

Polling Day: Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is going to be used as a polling station on 6th May and have been in touch to urge parents to be extra cautious on that day as cars may be entering and exiting their car park throughout the day.

Birthday Books: Thank you to Toby in Giraffe Class, Paven in Panda Class, Anya in Lion Class and Elicia and Ethan in Otter Class for their birthday books – we hope you all had a very happy birthday.
