Newsletter 2nd December

Dear Parents and Carers 02/12/2021

Christmas Fair

Our Christmas Fair, or rather outdoor Christmas Market, will take place on Saturday 11.30-3.30. Do come and join us but wrap up warm.

Children are invited to come with crazy Christmas hair tomorrow in exchange for a contribution for the cake stall.  This isn’t a mufti day – children must still be in uniform.

Nativity Performances

We have had no new cases of COVID reported in years 1 and 2 this week. In line with theatres and cinemas, we plan to continue with the performances in school next week however would urge you to do a lateral flow test before attending and to wear a facemask (unless exempt) throughout the performance. As we will be keeping the hall well ventilated, you may want to wear something warm too. We also plan to go ahead with our Reception and Nursery nativity performances in the final week of term.

Lateral Flow Tests are still available for FREE online. Get your tests here.

Parent Governor Vote

Voting closes at noon tomorrow for our new parent governor – the slips will be counted by the Clerk to Governors at 12.30 so don’t be late!

Junior Carol Service

Due to how incredibly busy the church gets and how closely the children are seated & singing together for our carol service, we have decided to run it slightly differently this year. We really want to invite our families so with that in mind are currently hoping to have it outside, at school. (This will hopefully not be impacted by the weather…) We will confirm nearer the time but at present would like to invite you to join us, wrapped up warm, on the 3G for a 2:30pm start on Monday 13th December. We will record the carols to share if circumstances change. Best wishes, Miss Ashby.

Orange Warning

On Thursday 16th December, the final Thursday of term, we will be making Christingles and having short Christingle services in the afternoon. We will also be sending home collection envelopes for the Children’s Society who provide the candles and tape prior to this and would ask that you return the envelope and an orange on the Thursday – we will provide all the other things needed to complete the Christingles.

Watches

Please do not send your child to school wearing an Apple – watch (or any other similar smart watch).

Mayor’s Christmas Card

We are very pleased and proud of Anthony in Owl class who entered the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition this year. He was chosen as a winner and his entry will be printed on one of the Mayor’s Christmas cards. He, like Lois who we announced as a winner last week, has been invited to tea with the Mayor. Congratulations and well done Anthony!

Special Museum take-over event – 20th December

There will be a special autism-friendly museum take-over day at the London Museum of Water & Steam in December, when you can explore the WHOLE museum as well as play with the trains. The museum won’t be open to the public so your family will be able to try out all the hands-on activities and look at the amazing giant steam pumping engines. Siblings and friends can go too. There will be two sessions – one in the morning and another in the afternoon. For details and tickets, go to: https://aac-waterandsteamtakeover.eventbrite.co.uk/
