Dear Parents and Carers 24/03/2022
Easter Holidays
Next Friday, 1st April, is the last day of the Spring term. The whole school will be walking down to church for our Easter
Service at 10am – all are welcome to attend. School will end at 2.15pm and there will be no Kingfisher Club that day.
Bike Bus
For their EcoProject, Zac (Kestrel) and Leila (Penguin) started a bike bus, inspired by the BiciBus in Barcelona. It starts
on North Road in Kew at 8.25am and comes down Atwood Ave, Marksbury Ave, and Manor Grove (where it stops to
collect more children and parents), then heads up Manor Road and into the school street on Carrington Road before
arriving at school at 8.45am.
They both presented their project last week to their classes and talked about the scheme and the benefits and how it
has been going so far. It started on Friday 4 th March and has been running for 3 weeks now. Numbers have been
growing over the 3 weeks and there were 23 children and parents on the Bike Bus on Friday morning, enjoying the
sunny start to the day and seeing their friends. See their flyer for more details if you would like to join them.
Climate Scientists
Last week was STEAM week in school (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) and the children were all
encouraged to become climate scientists. They all had big scientific questions to ask and experiments to carry out. On
Friday, the whole school came together so that each year group could share their findings. Thank you to Mrs Lambert,
our chief scientist, for organising the week’s activities.

Girls Cricket and Football
Richmond Cricket Club (RCC) has a well-established, thriving Girls' section and a growing Women's section, and are
very keen to encourage more girls to play. They welcome all levels of ability and experience, from those who have never
played right through to those at County standard. They have excellent coaching staff and there is a wonderful fun
atmosphere both at training and matches.
Girls of all ages are also invited to get involved in Richmond & Kew’s Football Development initiative.
See the flyers below for further information on both.
