Newsletter 5th May 2022

Dear Parents and Carers                                                                                                                05/05/2022

I hope you all enjoyed the long Bank Holiday weekend last weekend. It has been a short but busy week here in school especially for our year 6 teachers and children as they prepare themselves to do their SATs next week. Meanwhile, our choir are heading up to the O2 today and will perform alongside other primary school choirs in front of a packed arena tonight. Year 1 also had a wonderful trip to Holly Lodge in Richmond Park as part of their new Science topic ‘plants’. The children loved taking part in a wide range of activities including planting their own basil plants, constructing a tree out of materials they collected and looking at different types of leaves and grouping them accordingly.

Uniform

Since the start of the summer term, we have noticed that school uniform is not as consistent as it was in the autumn term. Can I therefore please remind you to send your child to school wearing the correct school uniform, including the correct PE uniform. https://holytrinityschool.org.uk/school-uniform/ Could you please ensure that the uniform is worn smartly with skirts and socks of appropriate length and colour. Uniform is an important part of a Holy Trinity’s identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps allow the children to feel pride in their school and their appearance. It also helps prepare students for secondary school school where many will have to dress smartly.

Barnes Trip

Many thanks to parents and carers who have already paid the £5.25 contribution towards the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival trip. Thank you also to those who have ‘overpaid’ to help cover the cost of the trip. All the classes from Reception to Year 6 are taking part and details have been sent out in a previous ParentMail. Please could you pay via your Scopay account if you have not done so already. We still have a significant amount outstanding that we need to receive in order for the trip to go ahead.

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

SENDIASS consultation

Do you have a child with additional needs? If so we need your help

Did you know that there is a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) covering the Kingston and Richmond boroughs?

SENDIASS is a service that offers free and independent information, advice and support for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This service is also offered directly to young people 16+.

Achieving for Children (AfC) wants to understand what parents, carers, children and young people want the future service to look like before it recommissions in 2023. We are running a consultation until Monday 6 June, 2022.

You can find out more here: www.afcinfo.org.uk/sendiassconsult including how to take part in workshops where you can ask questions.  Click here for more information; Leaflet
