Newsletter 21st October

Dear Parents and Carers 21/10/2021

I hope that you found it helpful to meet with the teachers this week – they were very positive about having the opportunity to meet and chat with you.

I just wanted to remind you that we have an inset day tomorrow so children will not be in school. Part of our training will be about Online Safety led by Peter Cowley from Achieving for Children. Peter will be returning to school on Wednesday 3rd November to run an Online Safety session for parents. This will take place between 9-10am in the hall and the PTA have kindly offered to provide coffee.

The children across school have been keen to change some of the names of the school houses to be more diverse. The JLT compiled a shortlist and the children have been involved in voting. We are pleased to be able to announce the name changes during Black History Month. Churchill has been replaced by Rashford and Rowling by Seacole.

Next week will be half-term so we hope you have a great week and look forward to seeing you again on Monday 1st November.

Tag Rugby Tournament

Yesterday, Holy Trinity competed in our first borough sporting event for two years. Due to amazing performances in the morning we managed to progress to the cup competition. Unfortunately we lost our match and were then knocked out of the competition however we were very proud as the whole team played with a fantastic attitude and demonstrated great teamwork.

Morning results:      HT 2- Russell 0;      HT 1 – St James 1;      HT 1 – St Edmunds 0;       HT 0 – Chase Bridge 1

This meant that HT went through to the cup round :      HT 2 – Heathfield 4

If your child is in years 3-6, and are interested in playing Tag Rugby at school, please look out for the Richmond Rugby after school club information on our website.  The club is on Tuesdays after school.

Cargo Bike Pop Up Event

On 2nd November 2:30-4:30 there will be an opportunity to find out about cargo bikes: What is a cargo bike? How can I get one? What are they like to ride? Come and find out at this pop up event. If you own a cargo bike be sure to bring it along! The event is organised by the Council in partnership with Sustrans and Peddle My Wheels and will take place in the school grounds.
